New Student Data Collection and Consent Form

Prior to your daughter commencing at Roseville College, we require information and your consent for a variety of areas:

  • Medical Information
  • Class Contact List consent
  • Data collection (for ACARA – the authority that delivers NAPLAN)
  • Image Consent

We will send this form to you in early November, along with any additional administrative tasks.

The due date for this is Friday 26 November.

If you need to supply us with medication, in advance of your daughter commencing at the College, the process for this will be advised prior to any Orientation activities.

Language selection (For girls entering Years 2-6)

At Roseville College, all girls study a language from Kindergarten through to Year 6. For Kindergarten and Year 1, girls study French. As girls enter Year 2, they are able to choose between Chinese or French as their language for Years 2, 3 and 4. All girls have the option of then switching to the other language for Years 5 and 6, or staying with the language they have been studying.

Instrumental Program (Year 3, 2022 and Year 4, 2022 only)

The Year 3 and 4 Instrumental Program is a two year program that integrates both curriculum and instrumental music. The program includes all girls and is run weekly within the school day. It comprises a combination of group-based instrumental tuition, class music and combined ensemble (Band and Strings) rehearsals. This program provides the opportunity for girls to learn one of the following instruments for two years:

  • Violin
  • Viola
  • Cello
  • Flute
  • Clarinet
  • Trumpet
  • Trombone
  • Euphonium
  • Percussion
  • Saxophone

The girls are allocated instruments on the basis of suitability, needs of the ensembles and personal preference. The girls will be tutored by our specialist instrumental teachers. Those who are already learning a string, woodwind or brass instrument may participate in extension ensembles.

We invite you to explore all of the instruments on offer with your daughter through our VIRTUAL MUSIC CLASSROOM. Click on the instruments to hear demonstrations from our Junior School students and click the teacher avatar to hear more about the program.

Once you have explored the instrument options with your daughter, please complete the INSTRUMENT MUSIC PROGRAM FORM.

Junior School Music Ensemble Groups (KG to Year 6)

Music opportunities for Junior School girls include: Concert Bands, String Ensembles and Choirs. Throughout the year, other smaller ensembles may be formed such as other vocal ensembles, percussion groups, extension string ensembles and other chamber groups.

Term 1 Sports sign-up

For Term 1, girls in Years 3-6 have the opportunity to take part in Football (Soccer) in the IPSHA (Independent Primary School Heads of Australia) Sport competition. . Training sessions are held before school and matches are played on Saturday mornings across the Sydney Metropolitan area. All abilities are welcome, and girls will be placed in a team accordingly. Additional sport options for Term 1 are Cross Country, Swimming and Gymnastics.

Girls in Kindergarten to Year 2 are able to participate in Gymnastics all-year-round, and if suitable, can participate in the Roseville Snowsports team in the July school holidays.

Co-Curricular Activities

Our girls are provided with an extensive co-curricular program to participate in. Each year, the program may be adjusted to enable new and engaging activities to be offered to the girls, with many of them enthusiastically participating in multiple activities that help to strengthen and develop the whole child.

Students and parents will receive information about available clubs and activities early in Term 1. Please see more information about possible offerings in the Junior School Co-Curricular Information Booklet.

Please also visit our Co-Curricular page to find out more about different activities, including some external and on-site activities that can be signed up for now. These include Dance, Speech and Drama, Tennis and Swimming.

Uniform Shop

Unfortunately, due to the current COVID restrictions for schools, we are unable to offer in-person appointments for a fitting. All orders are to be made online and picked up at the College. We are unable to ship items to you as they will include hats (which may get squashed) and bags (which are large).

Pick-up will be contactless, from 19 Bancroft Avenue (just up the road from the Main Entrance on Bancroft Avenue). Once orders are processed, the Uniform Store will advise you on how to book a time/day for your pick up.

For now, we recommend just ordering your daughter’s Summer uniform requirements, as in Term 1, we hope you will be able to visit the Uniform Store in person to sort out the Winter requirements.

Student Travel Pass – School Opal Card

The College has partnered with Transport for NSW to use the new online School Portal for endorsing school travel applications. You are now able to manage all your school travel needs online including applying for school travel passes and tracking the status of your application.

Students who are not residents and are temporarily in Australia can also provide their visa subclass number and exchange program (if prompted) when applying online, making the application and approval process much faster.

Before and After School Care

Camp Australia runs a Before and After School Care program at the College which is available for girls from Kindergarten to Year 6. It is operational from 7.00am-8.10am and 3.30pm-6.00pm each day. Recreational activities and homework supervision are provided.

Before a student can attend Before and After School Care, a registration form must be filled out. All bookings can be made online through Camp Australia or call customer service: 1300 105 343. Students are not permitted to be at school prior to 8.10am unless they attend the Before School Care program.

We recommend ALL families register with Camp Australia in case of an incident, which may result in you being late for pick up.

Fees and Payments

Please note that new families will only receive access to the College portal the week before Term 1 commences. At that time, you will receive a Welcome email from our IT department, with instructions on how to access it.
