Speech, Drama and Creative Drama

Speech and Drama classes are available as a co-curricular activity to girls in years 3 – 11 (Year 2 to be advised).

The aim is to equip the students with communication skills and to encourage self-confidence as speakers and performers through articulation exercises, mime, improvisation, storytelling, public speaking, verse, prose speaking, monologues and duologues. The students will also develop a love of literature and have fun!

Students are able to compete in eisteddfods.

Participation in Speech and Drama examinations is encouraged, either AMEB Australian based or Trinity Guildhall (preferably seniors) which is internationally recognised.

The year finishes with a low-key presentation of items from the year’s program and abridged scenes from plays.

Lessons are before and after school and are taught in groups.
