Careers
The Careers Department at Roseville College aims to provide students with the
background knowledge and skills that will enable them to make rational and
informed decisions regarding their future in relation to the world of work.
Careers lessons are part of the school curriculum in Year 10. The program culminates with one week work experience in areas as varied as acting, accounting and business, advertising, fashion design, hotel management and hospitality, photography, film, radio and TV production, a variety of health sciences, media, law, veterinary science and more. Year 10 students have benefited from specialist organisations giving presentations on job application and resume preparation skills.
The school has the services of a Careers Adviser who provides advice and information on: post-school courses, alternative pathways and career options. The Careers Adviser also organises lunch-time talks with speakers from major Australian universities and private colleges throughout the year. There is an opportunity for students to obtain first hand information at a Careers Evening where a number of guest speakers represent a variety of occupations.
Girls are also kept abreast of any Open Days, information seminars and workshops that will help them with their post-school options.
